Computer Buying Tips

Welcome prospective buyer!

These are just a few tips that I have gathered in my many years of profession ICT practice that helped me to serve people better in terms of buying computer systems for them.

For starters, you will have to know your major reason for wanting to buy a computer system.

Like if it is for Networking, Gaming, Multimedia, Accounting, etc. In that case you would have to get a computer system that supports your need in terms of hardware and software especially the operating system and application packages.

You may also need to consider if you would need your computer on the go most of the times or more at a place. This will determine if you will get a laptop/notebook computer system or a desktop computer system. Again power needs may also determine this choice.

Think also about the number of users that the computer will have to serve.

Also, consider the amount of money you are willing to spend on this project like you would on all other projects.

Do not always go for the trendy or flashy electronics. This applies to buy computers too. Check for the stability of the availabile products. Also check for the ease of abuandance of the brand's spare parts, best if you have the brand's service/support center everywhere.

Consider these with scrutiny:

1.Processor: Check for the stability of the processor not always the speed. The speed is also of utmost importance but the more stable the better.

2.Processor Speed: If you are going to be running big program, you are definitely going to like fast response from you computer, so get a processor that runs fast enough.

3.Memory (RAM): They can never be too much memory so the higher the better especially if you run many applications at a time.

4:Bus Speed: Make sure the communication transfer rate between the Processor and the RAM is fast enough.

5.Hard Drive Space: Get hard drive according to your needs. If you are the multimedia type, sure you are going to be needing much space for your musics, pictures, videos, name them.

6.Operating System: Do not always rush for the newest operating systems especially if you are not well acqauinted with them
7.Uninterrupted Power Supply (UPS) : You will need to get one if it is not a laptop that you are buy to avoid sudden shut down of your computer in case of power failure.
These are not even half of all you need to consider but they are the basics. If you wish, you can also include the more modern and trendy features like Bluetooth Connectivity, WIFI, Webcam/Camera, Fingerprint recognition,Card-reader, TV/Radion tuner, etc....

ATTENTION PLEASE:If you will get a laptop or a desktop with an on-board Proccessor, do well to get one that has almost if not all the requirements you need because it will be almost impossible to make any upgrade in future.
